M Madhusudon elected as vice president of Kho-Kho Federation of India

Manipur's M Madhusudon has been elected as one of the vice presidents of the Kho-Kho Federation of India (KKFI).
The election of the office bearers of the National federation was held today during the annual general body meeting held at the conference hall of KKFI office located at Jantar Mantar Road, New Delhi.
As per a press release issued by the Manipur Amateur Kho-Kho Association (MAKKA), Sudhansu Mittal of Delhi was re-elected as the president of KKFI alongside Upkar Singh Virk of Punjab as the new general secretary and Govind Sharma of Maharashtra as the new treasurer.
It may be noted that, M Madhusudon who started his sporting journey from grassroots level at BASU, Khangabok excelled himself in various sports disciplines and had groomed more than 400 athletes in various disciplines.
After completing post graduation in Physical Education, he served as Physical Education Teacher in the Department of Education (S), said MAKKA.
He qualified as referee or official under KKFI in 1992 and became the first international Kho Kho referee from Manipur.
Till 2009, he was part of the technical committee member and referee board member of KKFI and later became the joint secretary for two terms from 2009 to 2017.He was also the technical chairman of KKFI from 2017 to 2025 before his election as the vice president uncontested today, it said.
MAKKA's senior vice president, Okram Budhi also attended the annual general body meeting, it said.
Notably, Madhusudon, who is also a man of social work, is a recipient of Youth Award conferred by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports back in the year 1990 and played a key role during 5th National Games hosted by Manipur as the game convenor for Kho-Kho discipline.
He also served as the competition director in the 33rd National Games held in 2007 at Guwahati, the 34th National Games held in 2012 in Jharkhand and 4th Asian Kho-Kho Championships hosted in Assam in 2023.He also contributed as International Technical Official (ITO) to various events including Khelo India Game, National Games, South Asian and Asian Championships and the recently held Kho Kho World Cup, MAKKA said.
He has been elected to the post of vice president of the National federation in view of his long experience, dedication and invaluable contributions, said MAKKA.
The executive council of MAKKA and players in the State are delighted and extend heartfelt congratulations to him on being elected as the KKFI vice president, it added.
