Manipur kickstart U20 Men's NFC campaign with 5-1 thrashing of Nagaland

Manipur came out all guns blazing to hammer Nagaland by 5-1 goals in the Group (B) Stage opening match of the Swami VivekanandaU-20 Men's National Football Championship 2026 this morning at RK Ashrama Ground, Narainpur in Chhattisgarh.
Manipur and Nagaland started cautiously and headed into the break with the score tied at 1-1 but Manipur took gradual control of the game in the second half to add 4 goals to their tally and sealed the 5-1 victory.
Manipur took 34 minutes to break the deadlock through Salam Swamichandra before Lumningou Singsit drew level for Nagaland in the 39th minute.
After the restart, Thounaojam Rebertson retained the lead for Manipur in the 47 th minute before Loktongbam Lamjingba made it 3-1 after 52 minutes.
The scoring spree continued with Md Shuaib finding the target in the 61 st minute before substitute Khundongbam Carlos hit the final nail to the coffin in the 79th minute.
Manipur will play Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu on May 4 in the next match.
