Imphal, August 31 2026: Gurumayum Dimjit Sharma won a trap shooting silver medal as Manipur concluded the 13th NE Zone Shooting Championship 2026 campaign in third place with a haul of 7 gold, 15 silver and 9 bronze medals.

Assam bagged 39 gold, 21 silver and 20 bronze to finish on top as Meghala amassed 13 gold, 14 silver and 10 bronze medals to seal the second place finish.

In the championship that was held from August 25 to 30 at Guwahati Sports Shooting Range, Dimjit won the silver medal in the masters men competition finishing behind Kunal Gurung of Assam.

The championship also saw Aaryaman Lairenjam and Chinglemba Laishram of Manipur securing gold medals in senior and junior trap competitions.

Arvind Irungbam and Huidrom John also made 1-2 podium finishes in the 50 m rifle three position event.

Other gold medallists include Stacy Leitanthem, who topped 10 m air rifle for MQS; Pangambam Charanjit, who topped the masters men's 50 m prone event and Narumbam Isha Devi, who dominated senior women's 50 m rifle prone event.

The other silver medallists meanwhile include- Laiphrakpam Rajesh (10 m air pistol masters men), Lanchenba Nongthombam (men's 25 m sports pistol and 25 m standard pistol for MQS), Amakcham Yohenba (youth men's 25 m sports pistol and junior men's 25 m standard pistol), Chetananda Rajkumar (junior men's 10 m air rifle and youth men's 50 m rifle prone), Soibam Chingching (youth men's 10 m air rifle), Yumnam Thasana (sub-youth women's 10 m air rifle), Laiphrakpam Rajesh (masters men's 50 m pistol), Huidrom John (men's 50 m rifle prone), Oinam Labish (junior men's 50 m rifle prone) and Langoljam Hector (50 m rifle prone for MQS) .

The shooters who bagged bronze medals are Gurumayum Prithiviraj Sharma (junior men's 25 m standard pistol), Chetananda Rajkumar (youth men's 10 m air rifle), Yumnam Thasana (junior women's 10 m air rifle and youth women's 10 m air rifle), Huidrom John (men's 25 m centre fire pistol), Asem Kennedy (masters men's 25 m centre fire pistol), Amakcham Yohenba (junior men's 50 m pistol), Nongthombam Ranveer (masters men's 50 m rifle prone) and Aribam Prabin Sharma (50 m rifle prone for MQS) .
