Model Club, Singjamei Chingamakha defeated KASC by 34 runs for the third straight Group B win in the ongoing 3rd MNCA U-19 Men's One Day Trophy today.
Model Club rode on Irungbam Tonton's 123-ball 173 (21 fours and 7 sixes) and Ningombam Bisal's 39-ball 40 to post 279/6 (in 40 overs) after electing to bat first at Moijing Public Ground today.
Chasing for the big total, KASC, who had sealed four of four previous game wins, slumped to 245 all out within 34.3 overs.
Leishangkhong Maqubul Fida Ali (3/36) and Bm Afsar (2/28) earlier shared 5 wickets for KASC before they fell short by 35 runs in the chase despite efforts from Mehetab 45 off 23, Bm Afsar 36 off 34 and Md Rahis Khan 32 off 30 as Naorem Biyon (3/ 37) and N Bisal (3/57) shared 6 crucial wickets.
Irungbam Tonton who starred with a scintillating knock of 174 runs was adjudged player of the match.
Despite the result, KASC continued to hold the top place as Model Club climbed to second place.
Thomsan fashions CYCLONE'S comeback
At Lairenjam Public Ground, CYCLONE bounced back from second game loss to beat TCMDC, Thongju Part II Pechu Lampak by 7 wickets riding on Moirangthem Thomsan's allround performance.
Thomsan helped CYCLONE restrict toss winners TCMDC to 155/8 (in 40 overs) before scoring an unbeaten half century (67 off 58; 8 fours and 3 sixes) to steer his team to winning 159/3 in 22.3 overs.
Takhellambam Nganba 24 and Naorem Lann 23 led the TCMDC scoring today before N Sidarth 43 off 38 and Thomsan produced a key 76-run second wicket partnership for CYCLONE in this Group A league match.
Thomsan was named player of the match.
Saikhom Kaiku bowls AKSDO to 101 run victory
At Khudeiband Lampak, AKSDO, Khangabok thrashed TRAU, Kwakeithel by 101 runs to cap Group C campaign with 4 wins.
AKSDO piled 200 for all wickets in 39.2 overs thanks to Kh Gunachandra's 39 not out off 49, Khundrakpam Borish's 37 off 52 and Saikhom Kaiku's 33 off 42 even as Huiningshungbam Luching (3/34), Arubam Rainson (3/40) and Mutum Swabhiman (2/29) of TRAU did their best to derail the innings.
Saikhom Kaiku (6/15 in 8 overs) and Ningthoujam Sanayai (4/24) however overhauled TRAU's bowling performance to dismantle them for just 99 runs in reply.
Kaiku eventually walked away with the player of the match accolade.
Rain help RCA finish Group D campaign unbeaten
RCA, Lilong ended their Group D campaign on top with 4 wins as their final league match against YUCC, Kwakeithel Moirangpurel staged at Khangabok Cherapur was abandoned due to wet outfield.
Put in to bat first, RCA had posted a commanding total of 316 for all wickets down in 39.4 overs before rain intervened and forced the match to be abandoned.
