Veteran Cricket REYS crush ESU by 87 runs for third win on trot

Imphal, December 31 2024:
REYS, Nagamapal overwhelmed ESU, Wangkhei by 87 runs for the third Group D victory in the ongoing 21st Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament 2024-25 at Langthabal Public Ground.
The win also helped REYS finish Group D winners and qualify for the quarterfinals.
ESU won the toss and opted to field first.
They however had to regret their decision as REYS piled up 192 for all wickets down through a memorable knock from before they collapsed at 105 in the chase as Momo of REYS wreaked havoc on the way to his five wicket haul.

Kennu 16 and Dhaneshor 24 also registered double digit runs for REYS in the first innings which saw Boyai (3/24 in 6 overs) and Vedeshor (3/32 in 3 overs) sharing 6 wickets for ESU.
Rajesh (1/30), Henary (1/18), Shantikumar (1/25) and Banikanta (1/29) also shared a wicket apiece for ESU before their forgettable chase.
Only Swami 28, Vedershor 11 and Henary 10 were the leading run getters for ESU on the way to their 105 as Momo (5/20) and Baleshwor (2/14) shared 7 wickets while Dhawan, Chingkheinganba and Bedamohon chipped in with a wicket apiece.
Momo Thounaojam of REYS who enjoyed a fifer was adjudged man of the match.
