Brothers FC lift Sheikh Nur Muhammad trophy

Imphal, January 07 2023: Brothers FC, Kwakeithel lifted title of the 9-A Side Men's Open Sheikh Nur Muhammad Memorial Trophy football tournament organised by Sheikh Babumacha Memorial Trust (SBMT) .

In the final match played on Saturday at Princeton International School (PIS) football ground, Kshetri Awang Leikai, Brothers FC defeated Commando FC of Kshetri Bangoon by 2-0 goals with both the goals scored by Akon.

Kshetrigao MLA Sheikh Noorul Hassan handed over the winner's trophy and Rs 1.5 lakh to champions Brothers FC and Rs 80,000 and runners up trophy to Commando FC.

Addressing the gathering before the final match, Sheikh Noorul Hassan said that the trophy has been donated in the name of his father Sheikh Nur Muhammad who died in the second wave of COVID-19.While declaring that the tournament will be organised every year, he informed that the inaugural edition which started from December 24, 2022 was participated by 16 teams from different places of the state.
