AR holds exhibition match ahead of 4th Robert Cup 2025

Senapati, January 18 2025: An exhibition match in the runup to the fourth edition of the Robert Cup 2025, being held in memory of Lt Col Robert TA, was held at Senapati Astro Turf Football Ground on Saturday.

The exhibition match between 16 Assam Rifles team and Senapati District Olympic Association team captivated the spectators with a display of skill, teamwork, and competitive spirit.

The much-awaited tournament, now in its 4th edition, will officially commence from February 1, 2025 .

Preparations began with a Coordinating Conference held on Saturday, bringing together dignitaries, sports enthusiasts, Assam Rifles and team managers of participating teams.

The tournament will see participation of 20 teams from across Manipur with the winners set to receive a cash prize of Rs 3 lakh and the runners-up Rs 1.5 lakh.

Additional prizes will be awarded in various categories.

The Robert Cup is held annually in memory of Lt Col Robert TA, who sacrificed his life in the line of duty in North Sikkim.

Over the years, the tournament has become a cornerstone of regional sports, fostering athletic excellence and inspiring young talent.

The 2025 edition promises to be a memorable celebration of sportsmanship, camaraderie, and the enduring legacy of Lt Col Robert TA .
