SWC-K beat SWC-W to win Kakching DSA Trophy

Imphal, October 26 2024: SWC (Keirak) overcame SWC (Waikhong) on penalties to win the 18th DSA Trophy 2024, organised by DSA Kakching, on Saturday.

Th Yaiphaba opened the scoring for SWC (K) in the 30th minute, but H Boynao equalised for SWC (W) just before halftime.

The second half saw a flurry of attacks from both teams, yet neither could break the deadlock, leading to a penalty shootout.

In the shootout, SWC (K) successfully converted all three of their penalties courtesy of L Avinash, N Somokanta and B Rohit, winning 3-1 against their opponents, who converted just one shot through A Bishal.

SWC (W) managed to score only one penalty, taken by A Bishal.

Champions SWC (K) pocketed Rs 50,000 in prize money while SWC (W) took home Rs 30,000 .

Among the individual prize winners were SWC (W)'S Haobijam Tombi Singh (best player), SWC (K)'s Keisham Ding-kal (man of the final match), SWC (K)'s Th Yaiphaba (highest scorer), SWC (W)'s A Bisan Singh (highest scorer), SWC (W)'s Kh Joychandra Singh (best goalkeeper), SWC (K)'s Mayengbam Shital (best defender), SWC (K)'s Kh Rajesh (best midfielder), SWC (K)'s H Chandrakumar (best coach) .
