AR promotes sports, community engagement

With the objective to extend support to the community and promote sports, Assam Rifles distributed sports materials and organised a friendly volleyball match on Sunday.
According to a statement issued by PRO IGAR (S), Assam Rifles distributed sports equipment, including volleyballs, footballs, and nets, to the local residents of Aimol Satu village near Pallel.
This initiative precedes a football tournament scheduled from June 17 to June 22, featuring 10 teams from the Aimol tribe, including Aimol Setu, Aimol Khumbrai, Aimol Khunyai, Aimol Tampak, Aimol Khullen, Aimol Kodamphai, and Aimol Chingnuhut.
In Sajik Tampak, Chandel district, Assam Rifles organised a friendly volleyball match between the villages of Tolpajang and Haika.
The match saw active participation from the villagers, who cheered enthusiastically for their teams.
Following the match, the teams were felicitated for their performance, and a lecture was conducted on the importance of sports and games, emphasising the role of physical activity in promoting a healthy lifestyle.
The statement further informed that these initiatives are part of the ongoing efforts of Assam Rifles to foster positive changes, promote the Fit India campaign, and strengthen the relationship between security forces and local communities.
By encouraging youth participation in sports and supporting community events, Assam Rifles continues to contribute to the well-being and development of the region under their responsibility, it added.
