Imphal, December 16 2024: The 1st Manipur Yogasana Championship, 2024 & Selection Trial for the 36th National Yogasana Championship, 2024-25 was held at Singjamei community hall, EGC Complex, with MAHUD minister Y Khemchand Singh as chief guest of the inauguration programme on December 14.In a release, Championship co-convener M Charan Singh informed that on the first day competitions were held in senior (above 23 to 40 years), masters-1 (above 40 to 50 years), masters-II (above 50 to 65 years) and masters-III (65 years & above) categories participated by 66 players.

On Sunday, 83 players competed in novices (6 to 10 years), sub-junior (above 10 to 14 years), junior (above 14 to 18 years) and youth (above 18 to 23 years) categories.

In rhythmic competition, three boys and one girl contested with two boys competing in artistic event.

In all, 155 yoga athletes attended the selection trial for 36th National Yogasana Championship, 2024-25 which will be held at Midnapore, West Bengal from January 17 to 19, 2025 .
