AR organises mini marathon at Khengjoi village

Imphal, May 15 2024: Assam Rifles organised a mini marathon for women of Khengjoi Sub Division, Chandel district on May 14, 2024 .

The event was organised to encourage local youngsters to promote sports and fitness in the hill villages of the state, an IGAR (S) press release said.

The 10 km mini marathon event (women'scategory) was flagged off on May 14, 2024 from Joupi village, with 49 competitors.

The participants followed the route from Joupi village to Khemdo village (the turning point) before returning to Joupi, where the marathon ended.

The first three participants to finish were presented with cash prizes.

The marathon drew a good, supportive crowd of about 127 villagers who cheered the participants from their respective villages, the release added.
