MAAMBA felicitates state cyclists

Ukhrul, January 13 2025: Manipur Adventure and Mountain Biking Association (MAAMBA) organised a solemn ceremony on January 12 at IMA House, Lamphelpat, to honour the achievements of state cyclists who excelled at the 20th National Mountain Biking Championship held from March 28 to 31, 2024, in Panchkula, Haryana.

During the ceremony, Adonis Tangpu was felicitated for his remarkable performance, earning a Silver Medal as the runner-up in the Men Elite XCO (Time Trial) event.

He also secured a Bronze Medal in the Elite Men XCO (Mass Start) competition.

Another standout athlete, Khundrakpam Ronel Singh, achieved a Gold Medal in the U23 XCO event, while young talent Thotmachan Awungshi brought home a Silver Medal in the Junior Boys XCO (Mass Start) .

In yet another feat, Hamom Urbashi Devi, the sole female cyclist from the state, finished second in the Women Elite Down Hill event.

In total, state cyclists brought home four medals from the championship.

Both Adonis Tangpu and Khundrakpam Ronel Singh are set to represent Manipur in Mountain Biking events at the 38th National Games, which will be held in Uttarakhand from January 28 to February 14, 2025 .
