Superplate cricket: WYC, FORCE script contrasting wins

WYC handed out a crushing 128 run defeat to PSC in Thursday's action of the 4th MNCA Superplate Tournament 2024-25 at Model Hr Secondary & Oriental College Ground.
WYC, opting to bat first, set a competitive total of 237/8, with contributions from several players.
Mangi Sharma Gotimayum top-scored with an unbeaten 49, supported by Wangkhem Shamungou (40), S Herokumar (28), Wangkhem Laksmon (28), Hijam Prakash (18 not out), Netrajit Okram (18), Laishram Rajesh (18), and Huirongbam Biteshwor (12) .
In response, WYC's bowlers dominated, dismissing PSC for a mere 109 in 28 overs to secure a comprehensive victory.
Wangkhem Laksmon was the standout bowler with a remarkable four-wicket haul, while Mangi Sharma and Thoudam Roshankumar each took two wickets.
Laishram Rajesh also contributed with one wicket.
PSC's chase saw Hijam Boba (40) and Khuraijam Sagarjit (28) leading the fight, but the total was far too low to mount a serious challenge.
Earlier, Chungkham Kenny impressed with four wickets for PSC .
In another closely contested match, FORCE narrowly defeated YUCC at Moijing Public Ground in Thoubal.
YUCC, choosing to bat, posted 194/9, with W Lenin leading the way with 67 and Kadamjit Moirangthem remaining unbeaten on 41.Laishram Bidyashwor added 23.For FORCE, Tashib Alam claimed two wickets, while Arbin Khundrakpam, Md Islauddin, and Sarfaraz each took one wicket.
In response, Naeem NA7's brilliant knock of 75 guided FORCE to a thrilling one-run victory in 34.4 overs.
Valuable contributions from Md Kabir Ahmed (22), Tashib Alam (19), Najir Ali (18), and Mutum Shushil (17) ensured FORCE completed their chase, despite losing nine wickets.
