SEYO win Master Hockey Cship; U-14 titles for TWC teams

Imphal, March 09 2025: SEYO triumphed over TWC 2-1 in a nail-biting final showdown to clinch the inaugural State Level Thongam Iboyaima Singh Memorial Master Hockey Championship title at SEYO Astro Turf Hockey Stadium, Akampat, on Sunday.

The match, a rollercoaster of momentum shifts, saw Ksh Sumeshkanta ignite the scoreboard early for SEYO with a 7th-minute opener.

TWC fought valiantly to rebound, with N Jiteshor delivering a dramatic equaliser in the 50th minute.

However, SEYO's RK Bikramjit stole the spotlight just moments later, firing home the decisive winner in the 51st minute to secure his team's championship glory.

TWC's U-14 boys' squad showcased a masterclass in attacking hockey, overpowering YCCIC 8-1 to claim the U-14 title.

Spearheading the rout was Dinaraj, who netted an extraordinary four-goal haul.

Teammates K Dinachandra, S Dhomba, Kahor Kasar, and Arison K added one goal each, underscoring TWC's relentless offensive depth.

YCCIC's lone consolation came via K Mechael in the 31st minute, but it did little to disrupt TWC's march to an emphatic title victory.

The U-14 girls' final delivered edge-of-the-seat drama as TWC edged MLHA 4-2 in a penalty shootout after a 1-1 deadlock in regulation.

T Lanchenbi gave TWC a dream start with a 4th-minute strike, but MLHA's N Dhaneshori forced shootouts with a clutch 50th-minute equaliser.

In the high-pressure penalty showdown, TWC held their nerve, converting four attempts to MLHA's two, capping a hard-fought triumph and completing a double title celebration for the club.
