MTFC, LFC reach 2nd Ima Panthoibi Trophy semifinals

Imphal, January 25 2025: MTFC (Malom) and LFC (Tezpur) advanced to the semifinals of the 2nd Ima Panthoibi Trophy 2025 after securing contrasting victories in their quarterfinal matches at Thounaojam Playground, Kakching, on Saturday.

MTFC's triumph was led by a stellar performance from Premchand, who netted a hat-trick in their commanding 3-0 victory over MPA-B (Thounaojam) .

Premchand opened the scoring in the 1st minute, doubled the lead in the 28th, and completed his hat-trick in the 36th minute, ensuring MTFC's direct progression to the semifinals.

In contrast, LFC overcame Langlen FC (Lamjao) in a tense penalty shootout following a goalless draw in regulation time.

Demonstrating composure under pressure, LFC successfully converted all five of their penalty attempts, with Premjit, Thoiba, Thoithoi, Suraj, and Kabiraj stepping up to secure a 5-3 victory and their place in the final four.
