VETO, AMDAM CAM win Kabaddi titles

VETO, Laphupat Tera girls emerged victorious while AMDAM CAM, Lilong clinched the boys' title of the 50th Junior Boys & Girls Manipur State Kabaddi Championships.
The tournament, organised by the Kakching District Kabaddi Association under the auspices of the Manipur State Kabaddi Association, was held at Wabagai Yangbi Ground in Kakching district.
In the girls' final on Friday, MUC, Moirangkampu locked horns with VETO which the latter won by a margin of 23 points.
In the boys' summit clash, AMDAM CAM, outclassed WSWC, Wabagai with a comprehensive 25-point difference.
In all 12 teams competed in the championship, the closing ceremony of which was attended by AMUCO president Nando Luwang, Manipur State Kabaddi Association president A Jiten, Kakching district family welfare officer Dr E Kiran, Lamyanba Enterprises proprietor Dr E Amitkumar and social worker M Ranjit, among others.
Addressing the gathering, AMUCO president Nando Luwang emphasised the need for greater support and recognition for sports talents in the region.
He lamented lack of consistent backing from authorities but commended Manipur's sportspersons for excelling at different stages of competition.
