Imphal, January 19 2025: A men's football tournament, organised by Indian Army, kicked off at Kwakta Football Ground, Bishnupur district, on Sunday.

The opening ceremony was attended by senior Indian Army officials alongside prominent members of the local communities.

The tournament features 16 men teams from Kwakta and its neighbouring areas, competing for the title.

The competition is being held in a league cum knockout format, with league matches scheduled from January 19 (Sunday) to 27, 2025, followed by the quarterfinals on January 28 and 29, semifinals on January 30, and the final on January 31 .

This initiative aims to foster a sense of community, sportsmanship, and fitness among the youth and residents of Bishnupur district, a release said.
