Imphal, April 11 2025:
THAU inflicted a 10 wicket hammering of TC MDC in Friday's league match of the MNCA Women's U-23 One Day Trophy 2024-25 at THAU Ground.
THAU chased down a modest target of 119 without losing a wicket, showcasing their dominance with both bat and ball.
Opting to bat first after winning the toss, TCMDC faltered early, losing two wickets for no runs.
Despite a resilient 36 from Ningthoisana Thoudam, who struck seven boundaries, the team collapsed to 118/8 in their allotted 35 overs.
The innings was plagued by tight bowling, particularly from Konjengbam Nonibala Devi, who claimed four wickets for just 14 runs, and Creety Moirangthem, who took two wickets while conceding only eight runs.
Extras (40) were the second-highest contributor to TCMDC's total, highlighting their batting woes.
In reply, THAU's openers Robeni Usham (46* off 87 balls) and Nganthoi Salam (33* off 71 balls), steered their team to victory in just 25.4 overs.
The pair displayed patience and control, capitalising on loose deliveries while keeping the scoreboard ticking.
THAU's bowlers had set the stage earlier, and their batters ensured there were no hiccups in the chase.
