Rikesh, Rabikanta clinch medals at 4th KIO National Karate Championship

Imphal, March 29 2025:
Two athletes from Manipur shone at the 4th KIO National Karate Championship, which wrapped up at Gachibowli Indoor Stadium, Hyderabad, on Saturday.
Manipur's Thoudam Rikesh Singh secured a bronze medal in the U-21 -75kg individual Kumite category.
An athlete from ISKF - Kanglei Shito Ryu, he is trained by Sensei L Jotinkumar Sharma under the guidance of Kyoshi Mutum Bankim Singh, the chief of ISKF - Kanglei Shito Ryu India & Manipur.

Rikesh is the son of Thoudam Ranjit Singh and Thoudam Kumudani Devi of Langthabal Phuramakhong.
Meanwhile, Thingngam Rabikanta Singh delivered an outstanding performance, clinching the gold medal in the senior -55kg individual Kumite category.
Representing the Services Karate team, he was previously a karateka at SAI STC Imphal under the mentorship of coach Sensei Soibam Chandrima.
Rabikan-ta, who hails from Kakching Khunou Thingnam Ningthou Leikai, is currently serving in the Services Karate team, Happy Valley, Shillong.
He is the son of Thingnam Ibo-chouba Singh and Thingnam Memcha Devi, according to press release from Manipur Amateur Karate-Do Association.
