EC accords warm welcome to footballer Sapam Sarjit

Eikhigi Club (EC), Singjamei Oinam Thingel, Imphal West district, celebrated the return of Sapam Sarjit Singh, who represented Manipur as right-wing player in the recently concluded Sub-Junior Boys' National Football Championship.
Manipur lost 5-1 to hosts Karnataka in the final.
Upon their arrival, Sarjit Singh, an EC player, and his fellow state team members were warmly received by several dignitaries.
Eikhoigi Club (EC) extended a warm welcome and wished the state squad the best of luck in their future endeavours.
Speaking on the occasion, Oinam Romen, an executive member of the club and a prominent political activist from the Singjamei Assembly Constituency, stated that sports play an important role in promoting Manipur state at the national and international levels through different sporting events.
Acknowledging Manipur as a powerhouse of Indian sports, Romen stressed the need to nurture young talents from grassroots levels to excel as sports personalities.
He also called for integration of sports into the educational curriculum under the new Education Policy, emphasising its inherent benefits.
Further, Romen underscored the multifaceted talents of Ma-nipuris in sports, arts, culture, and beyond, advocating for their holistic development under the guidance of parents, elders, and people from different walks of life.
He asserted that it is our collective responsibility to shape them into responsible individuals across various fields.
