CHAMP, CYCLONE dominate in Luwangpokpa T-20 Trophy

CHAMP Cricket Club and CYCLONE notched up convincing victories in the 5th MNCA Luwangpokpa T-20 Trophy 2024-25 at Model Hr Secondary & Oriental College Ground on Wednesday.
CHAMP outclassed CRAU by 5 wickets.
CRAU opted to bat first but struggled to build momentum, posting a modest total of 120/8 in their 20 overs.
Ayekpam Rakesh Singh (34 off 25) and Ph Jodash (29 off 19) were the key performers, while Chingakham Ranjan Singh (3/20) and Md Sultan Karim (3/29) led the bowling attack for CHAMP.
In response, CHAMP chased down the target in just 13.3 overs, thanks to a blistering knock of 77 off 45 balls by Samir, who smashed 7 fours and 5 sixes.
His explosive innings, combined with contributions from Ayekpam Rakesh Singh (34), ensured a comfortable win for CHAMP .
The other match saw CYCLONE defeat SCCC by 52 runs.
CYCLONE posted a competitive total of 168/10 in 19.4 overs, with Loktongbam Santosh Meitei (39 off 21) and Muhammed Al Bashid (36 off 19) providing early fireworks.
Nongthombam Denin (28 off 22) also chipped in with a valuable contribution.
For SCCC, Rakeshwor Republic Hidangmayum (3/33) and Loktongbam Santosh Meitei (4/18) were the pick of the bowlers.
In reply, SCCC faltered and were bowled out for 116 in 18.5 overs.
Loktongbam Santosh starred again for CYCLONE, this time with the ball, claiming 4 wickets for just 18 runs.
For SCCC, Phijam Langamba Meitei (26 off 29) offered some resistance, but it wasn't enough.
