NCA, THAU victorious in MNCA Plate Tournament

Imphal, December 21 2024: NCA and THAU notched up victories in Saturday's fixtures of the 9th MNCA Plate Tournament 2024-25.NCA outplayed OSCAR by 3 wickets at Lairenjam Public Ground.

NCA opted to field and restricted OSCAR to 146/9 as Robinson (32), Da Ratan (20 not out), Jawan (15) and Sorokhaibam Samson (13) were the main run-getters in the innings.

Amarjeet Rajkumar led NCA's bowling attack with 3 wickets, supported by Angom Robinhood (2 wickets), and Chourjeet Rk, L Sadananda, and Roshan Konthoujam, who each took 1 wicket.

In pursuit of the target, NCA completed the chase in 26.5 overs, reaching 148/7.Key contributions came from Rk Rojeeson (43 not out), Amarjeet Rajkumar (23), Bobby Yumnam (22), Roshan Konthoujam (21), and Choureet (10 not out) .

OSCAR's bowling effort was led by Sorokhaibam Samson (3 wickets) and Zenith Nongmaithem (2 wickets).

At Cherapur, THAU beat RRCC by 33 runs.

THAU, batting first, posted 179 all out in 26.4 overs.

Pukhrambam Hilbert (44), Yoihen-ba Thoudam (43), Hanjabam Diamond (32) and Sanjeev Irengbam (21) were the main contributors.

For RRCC, L Pravin Kumar finished with an impressive five-wicket haul, while Sanasam Ruby made his mark with four wickets and Bineto bagged one.

In reply, RRCC fell short in their chase after being restricted to 146/7 in 27 overs.

Kh Romesh and Sanjeev Irengbam both played a vital role in their triumph by taking three wickets apiece, with Khundrakpam Aden chipping in with one.

For RRCC, efforts by Moirangthem Rameshwor (44), Louriyam Elan (37 not out) and L Pravin Kumar (28) went in vain.
