MPSC outclass MFA, Sainik Old Boys pip KLASA in MSL

Imphal, March 21 2025: MPSC and Sainik School Imphal Old Boys' Football Club prevailed in contrasting styles in the 17th Manipur State League 202425 at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong, on Friday.

MPSC cruised to a comfortable 4-1 win over Milan FA, with Akbar Khan playing a pivotal role, scoring twice.

He set the tone with an early breakthrough in the 4th minute, followed by Laishram Jeekop doubling the advantage in the 18th minute.

Just before the interval, Elangbam Birendrakumar extended the lead further, making it 3-0 in the 45th minute.

Milan FA responded after the break, with Ningthoujam George pulling one back in the 60th minute.

However, Akbar Khan sealed the victory for MPSC with his second goal in stoppage time (90+1), ensuring a decisive result.

Meanwhile, Sainik School Imphal Old Boys' Football Club edged past KLASA in a thrilling 3-2 encounter.

Jims Raikhan opened the scoring for Sainik in the 21st minute, with Naorem Klose doubling their lead early in the second half (52nd minute) .

KLASA mounted a spirited comeback as Saikhom Avinash reduced the deficit in the 61st minute before Taj Khan struck the equaliser in the 68th minute.

However, Thanjam Chinglemba netted the decisive goal in the 81st minute, securing a hard-fought victory for Sainik.
