Cricket: YUCC, YWC script big wins in NRM Trophy

Imphal, January 19 2022: YUCC and YWC (L) registered comprehensive wins in the 3rd MNCA U-16 Boys Naorem Rajningthou Memorial Trophy on Wednesday at ABA Ground, Kshetrigao.

YUCC started the day with a massive 220-run victory against TRAU.

Put in to bat, YUCC were all out for 266 in 29.4 overs.

Thoiba led from the front with a brilliant knock of 64 from 21 balls as M Medhajit hit 41 off 39 balls and M Ricky contributed 28 from 24 deliveries.

After setting a competitive target for their opponents, YUCC produced a fiery bowling display to bundle out TRAU for.

a mere 46 in 16.1 overs to seal an emphatic win.

YUCC's bowler K Prakash dished out an excellent performance by taking five wickets and conceding just five runs in his three-over spell.

YWC (L), on the other hand, handed a crushing eight-wicket defeat to TCMDC in the day's other match.

The YWC boys elected held and bowled out their opponents for 112 in 25.1 overs and then they knocked off the runs in 18.1 overs, losing two wickets in their run chase.

Rickymenan led the chase scoring 40 and Rohit made 21.Earlier, S Robinson claimed four scalps and Dailish took three wickets as Albert and Chingkheinganba chipped in with a wicket each for YWC.
