4th Thoubal District Boxing Championship begins

Thoubal, May 18 2024: The 4th Thoubal District Boxing Championship 2024 being organised by Thoubal District Amateur Boxing Association began at Mahesh Boxing Academy, Wangjing Heitupokpi Awang Leikai on Saturday.

Khangabok MLA Surjaku-mar Okram, retd asst director (SAI) K Michael Singh, DYASO Thoubal Deven Moirangthem, IRE Wangjing principal Dr N Rajivkumar Singh and Wangjing GP pradhan nominee T Bimol Singh were the dignitaries of the opening event.

Around 65 boxers are competing in the mini, sub-junior, junior (boys & girls) and youth/elite (men & women) events.

On the opening day, 19 bouts were decided.

During the opening ceremony, coach Ibomcha, who has produced many international boxers, was honoured with a gift.
