Football: LYCC, TFC seal contrasting wins at CSDSA Sports Meet

Imphal, January 18 2025: LYCC and Thungcheng FC recorded contrasting victories in Saturday's football matches of the 44th CSDSA Sports Meet 2025 at Chakpikarong playground in Chandel district.

Thungcheng FC started the fixtures with a 1-1 (4-3) penalty triumph over Rung-chang FC.

Changkingam put Thungcheng in front when he concerted a penalty in the 29th minute, but Rungchung FC mounted a comeback in the second period, with Nl Kosohring levelling the scoreline in the 71st minute, setting the stage for a thrilling penalty shootout.

In the shootout, Thungcheng delivered on all of their four attempts courtesy of Shetngam, Omega, Avis and Changkingam to secure a 4-3 win against their opponents.

LYCC, meanwhile, hardly broke a sweat as they swept past Nungpan YC 4-0 .

Thal-pingam set the stage with an early 7th -minute opener, followed by Shelpa who scored twice in the 14th and 45th minute, before Thalpingam collected his second and team's fourth goal to close out the game in dominant fashion.

In the day's veteran match, Chandel Khullen VT claimed a convincing 3-1 win over Rungchand VT, with Calvis netting a brace in the 3rd and 32nd minutes, and Bekan contributing a goal in the 36th minute.

Beniwar scored the consolation goal for Rungchand in the 6th minute.
