Imphal, August 17 2025: The Two-Day Thang-Ta Teachers' Workshop 2025 concluded on Sunday at Thang-Ta Maheikol, Yumnam Huidrom Makha Leikai.

The workshop brought together teachers and practitioners to strengthen the integration of Thang-Ta as both a subject and a practical art form in schools across Manipur.

Speaking at the closing session, Huidrom Premkumar, president of the Huyel Lan-glon Thang-Ta Association, Manipur, highlighted the significance of introducing Thang-Ta in primary and secondary education.

He emphasised that recognising Thang-Ta as an academic subject, supported by both theoretical and practical learning, would not only preserve the martial tradition but also provide students with a structured and holistic curriculum.

Premkumar further noted that members of the Thang-Ta Syllabus Committee had been actively involved in preparing appropriate study materials to ensure the subject could be effectively taught in schools.
