State win nine medals at qwan ki-do nationals

Imphal, January 13 2025: State players won nine medals including two gold and three silver medals at the VI National Qwan Ki-do Championship-2025 held at Indore Public School, Madhya Pradesh from January 3 to 5 .

According to a Qwan Ki-Do Association release, the medal winners are Kh Yailen (gold/sub junior girls/under 32 kg), Ch Laikhuram (gold/senior boys/U-83 kg), Wahengbam Nazily (silver/sub-junior girls/U-33 kg), Tekcham Ojitku-mar (silver/sub-junior boys/U-49 kg), Thokchom Yohenba (silver/ cadet boys/U-52 kg, full contact), Thokchom Yaiphaba Singh (bronze/pee-wee/U-22 kg, full contact), Ningthoujam Sinivash Singh (bronze/cadet boys/U-52 kg, semi contact), Chanam Sunderla) Singh (bronze/cadet boys/U-61 kg, full contact) and Kshetrimayum Johnson Singh (bronze/senior boys/U-73 kg, full contact) .

The team officials included Thokchom Tarunkumar Meitei (coach), Laipubam Momo Sharma (manager), Dr Longjam Mangal -sana Meitei (chef de mission), Dr Chabungbam Premchandra Singh, Takhellambam Sunildro Meitei, Thokchom Ajit Singh, Thongam Tabung Meitei, Sukham Koireng Meitei and Laipubam Roma Devi, it added.

Meanwhile, Thokchom Yaiphaba, Kh Yailen, Tekcham Ojitkumar, Thokchom Yohenba, Ningthoujam Sinivash Singh, Chanam Sunderlal Singh and Wahengbam Nazily, have been selected to represent India at the 2nd World Championship Qwan Ki-do in Lodi, Italy from April 11 to 13 .
