64th State Level Subroto Mukherjee Football Tournament 2025 kicks off in Thoubal

Thoubal, July 12 2025: The 64th State Level Subroto Mukherjee Football Tournament 2025 for U-17 boys, featuring 11 participating teams, commenced at Ningombam Mini Stadium, Thoubal, on Saturday.

The tournament, organised by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports (YAS), Manipur, was officially inaugurated by the deputy commissioner of Thoubal, Hannah Kamei.

In the opening match under Pool A, Diana English School, representing Imphal East, secured a dominant 4-0 victory over Little Angel English School from Ukhrul district.

In Pool B, Yumnam Huidrom Higher Secondary School of Imphal West delivered an impressive performance, defeating Saklim High School from Senapati district by 6-1 .

A tightly contested match saw Langmeidong Higher Secondary School (Kakching) and TG English School (Bishnupur) share the spoils with a 1-1 draw.

In Pool D, Khangsillung Higher Secondary School from Noney district edged past Salom English Academy of Tengnoupal District in a thrilling encounter that ended 5-4 .

The tournament's opening ceremony was also attended by YAS sports secretary Naorem Pravin, and director M Veto.
