Manipur make their mark on Day 1 of regu event

Imphal, January 12 2025: Manipur stamped their authority across three matches during the first day of the men's regu competition at the 34th Senior National Sepaktakraw Championship for Men & Women on Sunday at Indoor Stadium, Hanumakondo, Warangal, Telangana.

The men's team started off with a decisive straight sets win over All India Police (AIP), achieving scores of 15-1117-15 .

Subsequently, Manipur maintained their dominance, overpowering Gujarat with identical 15-4 victories in both sets.

They concluded their day's Group D fixtures with a convincing triumph against Nagaland, prevailing 15-5, 14-17, and 15-3 .

In their second match, Manipur overpowered Gujarat 15-4 15-4, before they wrapped up the day's fixtures with a 15-5 14-17 15-3 victory over Nagaland.

Meanwhile, the women's team were also well-placed in Group B standings with a walkover against Uttarakhand, followed by a 15-12 15-5 drubbing of Goa in women's regu event.
