Imphal, April 09 2025: FC Imphal were crowned champions of the Loitongbam Sharat Singh Memorial 1st Women's Futsal Inter Club Championship 2025-26, edging out Young Welfare Club in a nail-biting 5-4 encounter on Wednesday at Artificial Turf Ground, KIYC .

Their hard-fought win sealed the title, capping off an impressive campaign with 18 points from six matches.

Runners-up Youth Welfare Club finished three points behind the champions, ending their campaign with 15 points, while Young Welfare Club completed the podium with 10 points.

The match was a pulsating affair, with FC Imphal's Thingujam Bhumika and Bi-jeya Laishram each netting a brace.

Bhumika opened the scoring in the 18th minute before doubling her tally six minutes later.

However, YWC staged a stunning comeback as Sarangthem Alena and Chingangbam Binomala struck within seconds of the 26th minute to level the score.

Binomala then completed a quickfire hat-trick with two more goals in the 27th and 33rd minutes, briefly putting YWC ahead.

Yet, FC Imphal refused to surrender.

Laishram responded with a rapid double in the 33rd and 34th minutes, before Khumukcham Bhumika delivered the decisive blow in the 38th minute, securing a dramatic victory and the coveted trophy.

In the day's other fixtures, Youth Welfare Club triumphed 7-4 over MPSC in a high-scoring clash, while Manipur United FA routed Khumnan FA 13-2.MPSC (7 pts) finished fifth behind ESU (10 pts), with Manipur United FA (3 pts) and Khumnan FA (o) finishing sixth and seventh respectively.
