Imphal, December 31 2024: A contingent of 55 athletes, accompanied by six officials, departed from Imphal on Tuesday for Haridwar, Uttarakhand, to participate in the 30th National Sub-Junior & Senior Thang-Ta Championship 2024, scheduled from January 4 to 6, 2025 .

The team was formally seen off at Bir Tikendrajit International Airport by Laishram Meenabanta, vice-president BJP Manipur Pradesh, and Sijagurumayum Tarunkumar Sharma, general secretary (Prant Karyavah) RSS Manipur.

Both dignitaries extended their best wishes for the athletes' success and well-being, encouraging them to bring pride to Manipur.

The Manipur squad comprises athletes in the Under-14 and senior (18+) categories who will compete in events such as Phunaba Ama, Phunaba Anishuba, Thang-Haiba, Thanlon, and Khonglon-Khutlon.

The team will also perform a series of Thang-Ta demonstrations as part of the championship.
