Weightlifter T Bunny gets warm reception

Imphal, November 22 2024: Thingujam Bunny, who recently earned medals at the All India Inter SAI Weightlifting Championship held in Patiala, Punjab, was warmly welcomed at Imphal Airport by members of the Youth Welfare Organisation (YWO), Bishnupur, on Friday.

Bunny was honoured with gifts from YWO leaders Naorem Ingocha, Th Dhiren Meitei, and Kh Ojit Singh as a gesture of recognition for his remarkable achievements.

During the championship, Bunny secured a gold medal in the U-17 55kg category, a silver medal in the U-19 cat egory, and was also awarded the prestigious Best Lifter title in the U-17 category.

Speaking at the felicitation event, Bunny expressed his gratitude to YWO and the local community for their support and encouragement.

He credited his success to the guidance of his coach, Lucky, and reaffirmed his commitment to bringing further honour to his home state and India in the upcoming Commonwealth Games and other international competitions.
