Ultimate Squat Challenge held in Senapati district to promote fitness

Senapati, June 22 2025: Former Mega Mister Northeast winner P Achevei, in collaboration with The Muscle Studio Gym, Kathikho Karong, organised the Ultimate Squat Challenge at Astro Turf, Senapati, with the aim of promoting fitness and a healthy lifestyle in the district.

The event, held in an open category, saw 18 competitors attempt to squat as many times as possible within two minutes.

Participants were required to bend to knee level or below, using an Olympic weightlifting barbell during the challenge.

Winners were awarded Rs 6,000 for first place, Rs 4,000 for second, and Rs 2,000 for third place.

Additionally, five consolation prizes of Rs 500 each were given out.

Reipao Raimai (Vakho) claimed first prize, while Hriipunii (Senapati Bazaar) secured second place, and Ringsophy Lutkham (a lady from Jakaimei, Senapati) took third prize.

The five consolation prizes were awarded to Akash Pradhan, Abhishek Tamang, Hem Subba, Ashang Hungyo, and Gabriel.

Speaking to the media, P Achevei, the former Mega Mister Northeast winner, explained that the initiative was his brainchild, carried out in partnership with The Muscle Studio Gym, Kathik-ho Karong, to promote both mental and physical wellbeing.

He emphasised the importance of a fit and healthy lifestyle, regardless of age or profession, and hoped to set an example for society.

Additionally, he described the event as a memorable birthday contribution to the youth of Senapati.

The organising committee extended sincere gratitude to the Senapati District Olympic Association, Manipur, for permitting the use of the venue.
