KIBG: Manipur win 4 gold medals in pencak silat, two silver in Sepaktakraw

Imphal, May 22 2025:
Manipur clinched four gold, two silver and two bronze medals in pencak silat, while both their men's and women's teams settled for silver medals in Sepaktakraw on the fourth day of the 2025 Khelo India Beach Games (KIBG) in Diu.
The state's trio of Yaikhom Rohit, Sinam Chingkhei, and Sinam Jeevan struck gold in the men's seni artistic regu team event, while Jeevan and Chingkhei secured a second gold in the seni artistic ganda event.
In the individual categories, Dolly Leishangthem triumphed in the women's tanding (U-45kg), earning a gold, and claimed bronze in the Tunggal event.
Thounaojam Rita also clinched gold in the 45-50kg tanding category.
Meanwhile, the duo of Thingbaijam Dayalakshmi Chanu and Thokchom Benao Chanu took silver in the women's ganda event, while Hijam Merina earned silver in the women's tanding 45-50kg.Elangbam Dinesh added a bronze in the men's tanding 60-65kg.In another event, Yum nam Ranjan dominated his semifinal bout, defeating Maharashtra's Manojkumar 25-12 to advance to the 65-70kg final.
In Sepaktakraw, Manipur's men's and women's teams won silver medals, bringing the state's total medal count to 14 (4 gold, 4 silver, 6 bronze) and propelling them to the top of the standings.
