THAU clinch MNCA Women's One Day Trophy title with ease

Imphal, March 21 2025:
THAU made light work of PTRC in the final of the 4th MNCA Senior Women's One Day Trophy 2024-25, beating their opponents by 9 wickets at SEDOC Ground, Kongba Dhobi Lampak, on Friday.
PTRC won the toss and opted to bat first.
However, their innings never gained momentum as they were bowled out for just 82 runs in 19.2 overs.
Captain Ranjita Devi Kojjam top-scored with 28 off 23 balls, including 3 fours and 2 sixes.
RK Lintho-ingambi Devi contributed 14 off 9 balls, but the rest of the batting lineup faltered against a disciplined THAU bowling attack.
Milan Chanu Yambem was the star with the ball for THAU, claiming an impressive 5 wickets for just 10 runs in her 4.2 overs.
Niruta Thoudam also chipped in with 2 wickets, while Kiranbala Chanu Haorungbam took 2 wickets but was slightly expensive, conceding 33 runs.
In response, THAU chased down the target with ease, reaching 86 for the loss of just 1 wicket in 13.5 overs.
Seterny Devi Brahmacharimayum anchored the innings with an unbeaten 22 off 34 balls, while Niruta Thoudam provided a quickfire 19 off just 9 balls, including 4 fours.
Kalpana Devi Keisham, the captain, contributed 18 off 17 balls before being dismissed.
Chingkheileima Chanu Mangsatabam was the only wicket-taker for PTRC, finishing with figures of 1 for 22 in her 6 overs.
However, the rest of the bowlers struggled to contain the THAU batters.
Among the players who earned individual accolades were PTCC's Sijapriyari Chanu Hijam (highest wicket-taker), THAU's Kalpana Devi Keisham (player of the series & highest run-scorer), and THAU's Milan Chanu Yambem (player of the final match) .
