The 3rd MNCA Mens U-19 One Day Trophy 2024-25 witnessed a series of commanding performances across five league matches on Friday, with bowlers stealing the spotlight in rain-affected contests decided by the VJD method.
SU, AMCA, BLUE HAWK, FORCE and REYS all carried the day in their respective league matches.
SU secured a convincing 53-run victory over CYSA, after posting 192/8 in 29 overs.
Captain Philan Rajkumar led from the front with a fluent 63 (63 balls), while Ningthoujam Abungcha Singh (3/36) and David Keisham (2/17) restricted CYSA to 146 .
AMCA outplayed KSDO by 50 runs.
They defended a reduced target of 147 successfully, bowling out KSDO for just 96 .
Moichingmayum Md Yakin was the standout bowler with a miserly 3/9, complementing Hanif's all-round contribution (36 runs, 3/24) .
BLUE HAWK dominated SCCC with a massive 118-run win.
Nitish's aggressive 75 (81 balls) set up a competitive 201/9, before Moirangthem Romesh Singh (4/18) and Nandakishor (2/3) dismantled SCCC for 76 .
In the day's most lopsided contest, FORCE annihilated LCC by 199 runs.
Zaheer (54 off 34) and Anash Khullakpam (47 off 31) propelled FORCE to 220/9 .
The bowlers then took over, with Naeem Na7 (4/12) and Nasir Hussain (4/7) routing LCC for a paltry 25 in just 9.2 overs.
The day's closest encounter saw REYS defend 72 against THAU, winning by 21 runs.
Ringku Kangujam delivered a sensational spell (7/15), dismantling THAU for 41 after Mustakim's quickfire 26 (20 balls) had given REYS a fighting total.
