TS Paul Manipur Women's College seal MU Inter College Women's football title

Imphal, October 16 2024: TS Paul Manipur Women's College were crowned the champions of the Aheibam Borchand Memorial MU Inter College Women's Football Tournament 2024-25 hosted by the Biramangol College, Sawombung at its ground.

In the final staged this evening, TS Paul Manipur Women's College defeated SSGG College, Khurai by a slender 1 -0 margin to earn the top honour of the tournament organised under the supervision of the Manipur University Sports Committee.

The lone goal that made all the difference was scored by L Shelia in the 41st minute after the two sides entered into the break goalless despite some close chances.

Earlier in the day, SSGG booked their final ticket with a commanding 6-0 win over hosts Biramangol College.

A Priyanka starred in the match scoring a brace as she quickfired back to back in the 6th and the 7th minutes before Ch Anjali and L Bijeiya took their turns to score in the 11th and the 17th minute to make it 4-0 at halftime.

L Malemnganbi (39') and P Mira (40') then added a goal apiece after the break to complete the 6-0 rout of Biramangol College.

Meanwhile in the second semi-final match, TS Paul Manipur Women's College ran riot to notch up a 9-0 win over Liberal College courtesy of Bibicha (5', 8', 9', 22') who struck four goals alone.

Sanjana (3', 22') also scored twice in the TS Paul Manipur Women's College's big win as Ambika (32'), Nanao (34') and Shiliya (36') netted a goal apiece.
