Noney district gets its first artificial football turf

A new artificial football turf, named Agah-Phay Turf Court, was inaugurated on Thursday at Duigaijang (Happy Colony), Longmai Bazar, Noney district headquarters.
Christian Home, SDO Haochong, and Kapudai Dangmei attended the event as chief guest and guest of honour respectively.
Reverend Ngamdisin Kamei, pastor Longmai-3 Baptist Church, led the dedication and blessing ceremony.
Owner of the football turf, Akhon Riamei invested about Rs 40 lakh in the construction of the artificial field Ningthouchapou Kamei, general secretary Noney District Sports Association (NDSA), alongside community leaders, sports enthusiasts, and other well-wishers, attended the event.
As part of the inaugural programme, T Kamei recited his English poem "Play for Health", which he wrote to inspire and challenge young athletes in the area.
In his address, chief guest Christian Home expressed gratitude to Riamei for his generosity and vision in developing Noney district's infrastructure.
He remarked that, despite being a newly established district, Noney is making impressive strides in development, and he hoped this new turf will serve as a foundation for further growth in the area.
Speaking to the media, Gakloungam Riamei, manager Agah-Phay Turf, informed that the vision of the artificial turf ground project is to enhance local football skills and promote the sport within the community.
Agah-Phay Turf Court is the first artificial football field in the district, marking a milestone in Noney's sporting facilities.
The inauguration concluded with an exhibition match between Awangkhul FC and Namdunlung FC .
