UPAA, NACO romp in Manipur State League

Imphal, February 10 2025:
The 17th Manipur State League (2024-25) saw an action-packed day on Monday, with UPAA and NACO securing impressive wins in their respective matches.
UPAA displayed a stellar performance, securing a convincing 3-0 triumph over TRAU in their encounter at the Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong.
The first half saw both teams battling for control, with neither side able to break the deadlock.
However, UPAA came out strong in the second half, capitalising on their attacking momentum.
The breakthrough came in the 50th minute when Khaidem Rajanikanta Singh found the back of the net, giving UPAA the lead.
TRAU struggled to respond as UPAA continued to apply pressure.
In the 67th minute, Konsam Angamba Meitei doubled the advantage with a well-placed shot, further denting TRAU's hopes of a comeback.
Just three minutes later, Khumanthem Hemlet sealed the victory with a third goal in the 70th minute, ensuring UPAA walked away with all three points.
Meanwhile, NACO delivered an equally impressive performance with a 2-0 victory over NEROCA FC at Sagolmang Ground.
The match saw a competitive first half, with both teams striving to gain the upper hand.
However, it was NACO who emerged stronger in the second half.
Takhenchangbam Krishnananda Sharma opened the scoring in the 59th minute, breaking the deadlock and putting NACO in the lead.
NEROCA FC attempted to stage a comeback but struggled to penetrate NACO's defence.
In the 73rd minute, Yumnam Borndme Singh struck again for NACO, doubling their lead and putting the game beyond NEROCA's reach.
