MNCA secretary Ronel Singh named zonal convener for Duleep Trophy 2025

Manipur Cricket Association (MNCA)'s honorary secretary Leishangthem Ronel Singh has been appointed as the zonal convener of the North East Zonal Selection Committee for the upcoming BCCI Duleep Trophy 2025 .
According to a press release issued by the MNCA, the tournament is scheduled to be held at the Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru from August 28 to September 15 .
In his capacity as zonal convener, Ronel Singh will be responsible for selecting a 15-member squad representing the North East Zone, as well as nominating the team's support staff, which will include a coach, assistant coach, physio, trainer, performance analyst, masseur and manager.
The selection committee meeting is slated to take place on August 11 at 6:00 pm at Hotel Taj Vivanta, Guwahati, the association confirmed.
Describing the nomination as a significant honour, the MNCA expressed its gratitude to the North East State Cricket Associations and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for their continued trust in the association's leadership.
"It is a proud and inspiring moment for all of us at MNCA .
Ronel Singh's nomination is a recognition of his commitment, credibility and leadership in cricket administration.
We are confident he will perform his duties with sincerity and fairness", said Nongthombam Zico Meetei, president of the MNCA .
This is the second time Ronel has been appointed to this role.
He previously served as zonal convener during the 2023-24 season for the Senior Women's Inter Zonal One Day Trophy, the MNCA added.
The association extended its congratulations to Ronel Singh and conveyed best wishes to both him and the North East Zone team for the forthcoming Duleep Trophy 2025 .
