Thangjam Priya settles for Asian Rowing Cup bronze, qualifies for Asian Games

Imphal, April 27 2026:
In a proud moment, State rower Thangjam Priya and her partner Poonam won India a bronze medal at the Asian Rowing Cup hosted by South Korea at Chungju.
Competing at the 2000 m Women's Double Scull event, Priya and Poonam combined well to complete the course in 7 minutes 49.279 seconds to finish third and settle for the bronze medal.

Thangjam Priya is the daughter of Thangjam Somen and Thangjam Mangi Devi of Ngangkha Lawai Maning Leikai.
India's pair of Suman Devi and Diljot Kaur also secured a bronze medal in the Women's Coxless pair event with a time of 8:02.384 .
Both the bronze medal winning crews also qualified for the Asian Games following their third place finishes in the Chungju competition held from April 24 to 26 .
Manipur's Haoibijam Tendenthoi was also part of the 14-team National team.
Tendenthoi, daughter of Haobijam Bimol and Haobijam Memchoubi, competed in the 2000 m Women Coxless Four event.
