State Level JN Hockey Tournament : K Birjit HS vs Lamjao HS; YPES vs Bishnupur HSS in U-15 Boys' semis

Keisham Birjit High School of Imphal West district will play Lamjao High School of Kakching district and Young Pioneer's English School (YPES) of Imphal East district will face Bishnupur Higher Secondary School of Bishnupur district in the U15 Boys' semi-final matches of the State Level Jawaharlal Nehru Hockey Tournament 2026 .
The tournament for U15 Boys, U17 Boys and U17 Girls kicked off yesterday at Khuman Lampak Hockey Stadium under the aegis of the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports.
6 teams clubbed into two pools are competing in the U15 boys tournament.

The opening day saw Keisham Birjit High School and Young Pioneers English School registering two of two league stage wins to top Pool A and Pool B respectively.
In the Pool A opener, Lamjao High School opened their campaign with a commanding 7-1 win over Hill Cross English School of Jiribam district.
Skipper Th Lanchengba led the way with four goals including a penalty stroke in Keisham Birjit High School's victory as M Guneshwor (18'), Y Chingkheinganba (23') and Th Malemthoiba (35') contributed a goal apiece.
The lone goal for the Jiribam side was scored by N Gilbert in the 17th minute to make it 3-1 at halfway mark.
In the Pool B opening match, YPES rode on H Sohan Sharma's double (1', 46') and one goal apiece from L Arjun (2'), Kh Pubamani (8'), K Krishnakant (14'), Richard Konthoujam (48') and M Athoiba (44') to rout Bishnupur HSS 8-0 .
Bishnupur HSS, however, bounced back with a 5-0 thrashing of Brilliant Academy of Thoubal District.
W Akash (17', 27') scored twice in Bishnupur HSS's win as L Bidyananda (19'), W Nganba (25') and Th Nepolian (36') contributed a goal apiece.
YPES then completed Pool B sweeping by brushing aside Brilliant Academy 7-1 courtesy of a treble from H Sohan Sharma (1', 37', 51').M Athoiba (8'), Kh Pubamani (17'), L Arjun (29') and Soyam Lanchenba (57') also chipped in a goal apiece to set up the comfortable win for the Imphal East side.
The lone goal for the Thoubal side was scored by Ariba Parisca in the 28th minute after they trailed 0-2 in the first quarter.
In the 5th match and the second Pool A match, Keisham Birjit Singh HS opened their campaign with a 6-0 thrashing of Hill Cross English School.
Ng John took centre-stage in the match as he netted thrice (3', 4', 29') while Dinaraj Kangujam (17'), Pukhrambam Ashutosh (19') and Ng Ngouba (33') found a goal apiece.
The Imphal West team then romped to a 5-0 win over Lamjao High School to top Pool A.Dinaraj Kangujam netted thrice (17', 20', 29') in this yet another one-sided match while his teammates Nokson Puyam (19') and M Michael (33') contributed a goal apiece.
The semi-final line up of both the U17 boys and girls were also completed today.
