Lanchenba, Radhamani clinch gold medals at 6th Junior National Boxing Championships

Imphal, June 25 2025:
State duo, Moibungkhongbam Lanchenba and Longjam Radhamani clinched gold medals as Manipur finish with a haul of 6 medals at the 6th Junior National Boxing Championship that concluded today at SAI NBA Rohtak, Haryana.
Moibungkhongbam Lanchenba won 3-2 via split decision against Piyush of SSCB in a keenly contested 50 kg category final bout today to become only gold medallist from among the State boys.
Lanchenba boxed his way to the final with a similar victory against Aman Dev of Chandigarh yesterday.
Lanchenba was also adjudged best boxer among the boys.
Meanwhile, Longjam Radhamani claimed the only gold medal for the girls team with a 3-2 split decision victory against Harshita Kumari of Himachal pradesh in the 57 kg category final bout.
Radhamani cruised into the final yesterday with a dominating 5-0 unanimous decision win against Yani Waii Sonam of Arunachal Pradesh.
Yesterday, four State boxers- two boys and two girls, suffered semi-final defeat to settle for bronze medals.
The bronze medallists include Lairenlakpam Ambekar (48 kg), who went down to Falak of Haryana, Leimapokpam Mahesh (70 kg), who suffered defeat in the hands of Arjun of Rajasthan; Heikham Riya (50 kg), who fell to SSCB's Bhakti and Thoudam Daina (63 kg) who lost in the hands of Diya of Haryana.
The State team were led by L Kishan, Y Priyo and Gyanendro as coaches.
