2nd NE Rising Cup 2026 : Manipur go down by 65 runs to Tripura in semis

Manipur suffered a semi-final exit in the 2nd North East Rising Cup 2026 for U-15 girls as they went down by 65 runs to cohosts Tripura inarain hitmatch at Judges Field, Guwahati.
Tripura opted to bat first in the limited-overs competition (35 overs an innings) and were 165/4 in 27.1 overs when rain interrupted the match.
The target was revised to 187 in 24 overs following the interruption and the State girls were bowled out for 121 runs within 21.1 overs despite Viviene Laishram hitting a quickfire 51 off 39 balls laced with 10 fours.
Earlier in the first innings, Rimsha Karmakar 53 off 52 balls (8 fours) and Sayantika Sutradhar 38 off 40 balls (5 fours) led the early batting onslaught for Tripura to add 101 runs together for the first wicket.
Sakshi Verma 12 and Mahasweta 20 were unbeaten when rain detered the progress of the innings.
For Manipur, Laishram Linthoi had picked two wickets (2/28 in 3 overs) and Suchitra Devi Waikhom managed one (1/6 in 3 overs).
In reply, Manipur Marvi Maibam 21 off 27 balls (2 fours) and Viviene Laishram gave a promising start by adding 80 runs together for the first wicket before things went downhill in the face of concerted bowling attack led Riddhi Nama (3/1 in 2 overs), Purba Chowdhury (2/20 in 5 overs) and Alankrita Saha (2/26) .
Diya Sarkar (1/22) and Sakshi Verma (1/13) were also among the wickets for Tripura today.
