Imphal, September 24 2026: Biramangol College and Kha Manipur College were crowned the men and women's champions of the Asem Arunkumar Singh Memorial MU Inter College Table Tennis Tournament 2026 hosted by TS Paul Manipur Women's College, Mongsangei.

Biramangol College defeated Manipur University 2-0 to seal the men's (team) title today.

Shidarth Naorem beat Rajkumar Kenish 11-3, 11-5, 11-6 to put Biramangol College ahead before Athokpam Bairal sealed the victory by handing Ningombam Herojit an 11-5, 11-4, 11-7 defeat in the following singles encounter.

Stephen Chingakham and Moirangthem Sanatomba were also part of the Biramangol team.

Kha Manipur College meanwhile sealed the third place title beating Manipur College 2-0 .

Earlier in the semi-finals, Biramangol College outlasted Kha Manipur College 2-0 and Manipur University beat Manipur College 2-0 .

Liberal College and Imphal College also participated in the men's tournament but they failed to advance from the league round.

In the 5-team women's tournament that was conducted in the round robin league format, Kha Manipur College registered four of four wins to seal the top honours.

The team comprising Thoidingjam Silky and Nongmaithem Priyadashini registered a walkover win over hosts TS Paul Manipur Women's College and registered 2-1 win over Regional College.

They then scripted 2-0 wins over Manipur University and Liberal College to complete the league stage sweeping.

Regional College featuring Hidam Liya and Ningombam Milky, meanwhile, won 2-0 over TS Paul MW College and Liberal College and a 2-1 win over Manipur University to finish runners up as Manipur University team comprising Koda Joseline, Manine and Wonyo Haorei registered a walkover win over hosts TS Paul MW College and Liberal College to finish second runners up.
