6th Junior National Boxing C'ship : M Lanchenba, L Radhamani seal final tickets; four others settle for bronze

Imphal, June 24 2025: oibungkhongbam Lanchenba and Longjam Radhamani scored contrasting wins to seal their title bout tickets as four compatriots bowed out in semi-finals in the 6th Junior (U-17) National Boxing Championships being underway at SAI NBA Rohtak, Haryana.

Competing in the boys' 50 kg category competition, M Lanchenba entered the final via a 3-2 split decision in a keenly contested semi-final bout against Aman Dev of Chandigarh this morning.

Longjam Radhamani meanwhile booked her final berth with a huge 5-0 unanimous decision win against Yani Waii Sonam of Arunachal Pradesh in a semifinal clash for the 57 kg category.

Four State boxers, however, failed to make it to the final and settled for bronze medals losing in the semifinal bouts today.

Lairenlakpam Ambekar, competing in the boys' 48 kg ended his journey in the semifinal by going down to Falak of Haryana while Leimapokpam Mahesh suffered defeat in the hands of Arjun of Rajasthan in a boys' 70 kg category semifinal clash.

Meanwhile in the girls' competition, Heikham Riya fell to SSCB's Bhakti in a semi-final bout for 50 kg category as Thoudam Daina Devi lost in the hands of Diya of Haryana in a 63 kg category semi-final bout today.
