2nd U-15 Girls' NE Rising Cup 2026 : Manipur upstage Arunachal Pradesh by 5 wickets to enter semi-finals

Imphal, April 23 2026:
Manipur defeated Arunachal Pradesh by 5 wickets to enter the semi-finals of the 2nd North East Rising Cup 2026 for U-15 Girls co-hosted by Assam and Tripura.
The State girls dismissed their rivals for 102 runs in 35 overs and fought their way to the target within 22.2 overs at the cost of 5 wickets to post their second Group A win in the 8-team tournament at Judges Field, Guwahati.
Toss winners Arunachal Pradesh had a forgettable day as Saumya Maurya 22 off 57 balls and Techi Jeena 21 off 50 balls emerged two double digit run scorers while others departed cheaply.
Yumnam Echapamu (3/13 in 7 overs) led the demolition job with the assistance of Laishram Linthoi (2/15 in 6 overs), Suchitra Devi Waikhom (1/5 in 3 overs) and Laishram Bigyapati (1/21 in 5 overs) .
In reply, Viviene Laishram 13 off 18 balls, Laishram Kalpana 24 off 47 balls and Marvi Maibam 21 off 38 balls provided early flourish before Suchitra Devi Waikhom 11 not out off 23 balls and Laitonjam Benita 3 not out off 3 balls finished off the chase in the second delivery of the 23 rd over.
For Arunachal Pradesh, Yamini Singh (2/25 in 6.2 overs) and Saumya Maurya (2/32 in 7 overs) shared four wickets as Techi Jeena (1/18) managed one wicket in a lost cause.
Notably, Manipur started their league campaign with a 6-wicket loss to hosts Assam but bounced back strongly to crush Nagaland by 10 wickets in the previous match to keep their semi-final hopes alive.
