Imphal, January 22: MPSC overwhelmed UYAC, Kongba Ucheckon 6-2 as Cosmo, Wangkhei coasted to a 5-2 victory over Hockey Union, Lairikyengbam Leikai in group matches of the 10th Dr Kanti Mukherjee Memorial Invitation Hockey Tournament at Khuman Lampak Hockey Stadium today.

MPSC struck four times in the opening session and two in second half while both the UYAC goals came late in the second session through S Honda (53rd) and Th Ruhikanta (63rd).P Priyokumar scored two of the MPSC goals (17th, 50th) with N Gunamani (30th-PC), N Babumacha (36th), P Adeva (38th) and Th Birjit (60th) chipping in one each.

In Cosmo's defeat of HU, A Anand opened the score 13 minutes into the game before Hemjit (19th, 63rd) and Th Manjit (21st, 69th) put the match beyond the Lairikyengbam Leikai side's reach for whom L Leejohn (16th-PC) and L Bikram (17th) scored the consolation goal.
