3rd Maklang Mahadeva Mini Volleyball Tournament IGO down MYDC to lift trophy

Imphal, February 21 2017: IGO downed a fighting MYDC to lift the 3rd Maklang Mahadeva Mini Volleyball Tournament in the final of the tournament played today at Maklang High School Ground.

In a keenly contested match, the players from IGO managed to get the better of MYDC winning three sets and losing one set in the best of five sets.

The match could have gone the full distance but the spikers of IGO played to a team and demonstrated better co-ordination to put it across MYDC winning three sets and losing one set.

In the first set, IGO had to put their best foot forward to down a fighting MYDC 25-18 .

Not deterred by the loss in the first set, MYDC players put up a better performance and managed to outspike the players of IGO by 25 points to 18 points in the second set.

With the two teams tied at one set each, both teams put their best foot forward in the third set and fought all the way, not giving an inch to the other.

The game could have gone either way, but IGO kept their cool and managed to beat the fighting boys of MYDC by 25 points to 23 points.

For emerging the champions, IGO walked away with the winners' trophy and Rs 15,000 while runners up team MYDC were awarded a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and a trophy.

The best disciplined team title went to AMYC and they were awarded a cash prize of Rs 1000 .

The best player title including a cash component of Rs 1000 went to Thuan Pamei of MYDC while the best spiker of the tournament title went to Sakhil of IGO with a cash prize of Rs 500 .

The best blocker title went to Nawaz of IGO and carried a cash prize of Rs 500 .

The tournament was organised by MYDC.
